My name is Anika, and I’m a 13-year-old writer, blogger, and daydreamer who looks to serve the Lord in everything I do. Yes, I spend my time hunched over manuscripts and fussing over worlds that don’t even exist – but it’s all in an attempt to get myself moving down the path to publication, which has been a dream of mine for years now.

I’m a Christian, and because of the Lord my life has been turned into one big adventure story. I fight battles daily and have to scars to show for them – but I also know that at the end of the road, a happy ending is waiting for me and my fellow Christ-followers.

I don’t have daughters, but if I did, this is what I would share with them when they turned 14 or 15. God gave me sons, and I still hope to share this with them, but from a different perspective. So I decided to write a letter to my younger, more emotional self with the advice and answered questions I longed for at that age.

Dear Rachel,

I am you, 24 years from now. You are 15 and I know that right now, you are wondering why you feel how you feel, look how you look, and have to be different from so many. You have experienced a major heartbreak, the first of its kind for you. You’ve been feeling a little like God asked you to give him the thing that has become most precious to you, your first love, and has given you only promises for the future. He hasn’t taken the pain away. And He won’t for quite a while. He hasn’t brought another guy along. And he hasn’t shown up in physical form to walk with you every day in the school that you feel very alone in. Even with friends to talk to, you feel awkward and out of place. I’d like to share a little of what God has in store for you…

Hey y’all! I’m Melani. I’m the writer here behind Reflections of the Heart. I began blogging three years ago to share my stance on modesty and living for the Lord. It’s been quite a journey, and I’ve loved every step of the way! 

Now I’m sharing something a little different. I think we can agree that our culture puts a very high and worldly standard of beauty, worth, and self-image on us girls. God defines it in a totally different way, and I’m excited to dive into that in upcoming posts. I am going to share what God says about us as His daughters, how we should relate to those around us, putting Christ and others above ourselves, and basically living life as a godly teenage girl.

It seems that the internet is flooded with social media gurus … but how many of them are 13? Gloson is a young tech guru from Malaysia, who uses his site to talk about social media, blogging, and more (we didn’t even have cell phones until college!). The Google analytic rundowns and his sharp writing make you wonder if it really is a kid behind all the geek wisdom — but endearing poems like “My Kitty’s Adventure” suggest that there truly is a precocious kid behind the wisdom.

Style rookie? More like seasoned pro. The fashion industry probably wasn't prepared for the influence Gevinson, who started her "Style Rookie" lifestyle and inspiration blog at age 11, would eventually have as a tastemaker, fashion rule-breaker, and insightful commenter on trends. She met Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, received goodies from top designers, and most recently, worked with magazine maven Jane Pratt on a potential website. We like how it seems as if she never takes herself too seriously and acknowledges the fact that despite her fashion-world cred and over 33,000 Twitter followers, she still has to make it to her English class on time.

This 13 year old Indonesian wonder states one of her occupations is spending money - oh, what a life. It's probably true given she was photographed wearing a straw Gucci hat with a Hermes belt to match.
